Balance the Jaw - Balance the body
Reset is a non-invasive system to help relax the jaw muscles, (TMJ). By releasing tension held in the T.M.J., the body's skeletal, muscular, nervous system, meridian system and hydration system are all influenced. Imbalance in any of these affects the quality of the Brain/Muscular Feedback System.
The primary defence and survival system of the Recticular Alarm System (RAS) initiates tension in the muscles of the mastication, the spinal and cranial dura and the body fascia, to hold face and head together and to stabilize and protect the brain, spinal cord, and the sacroiliac and pelvis structure.
For example - Dental work, Jaw opened too long. Too much force when extracting teeth. Extraction of too many teeth, especially in children.
If you have ever knocked your jaw, or been under tension, or had any of the above, even as a child, the jaw muscles may have become hypertonic, (too tight), and could still be out of balance. This puts stress of the TMJ, which once released by RESET, allows a return to balance and normal functioning. Imbalances in the TMJ affect the whole body.
In a car accident the jaw muscles tighten to protect the brain and spine, a response called by Dr. Ferrel, Defensive Jaw. Even when anger and or fear overcome us, the hypertonicity (tightness) of the jaw is where we usually hold this stress.
Releasing this tension in the TMJ muscle has far– reaching impact on conditions ranging from headaches to neck and lower back pain, post dental visits, inability to open mouth wide, Tinnitus, clenching and grinding teeth, numbness of jaw, even pain in teeth (with no apparent dental reason).
